Abstract
A new, facile and cost-effect process involving the solvent-free synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthols using a three-component, one-pot condensation reaction of b-naphthol, aromatic aldehyde and amides in the presence of anhydrous zinc chloride as heterogeneous catalyst under microwave irradiation has been described. The results obtained clearly showed that the catalyst was recyclable and highly efficient.
