Abstract
Densities (r) and speed sound (u) of binary systems of difurylmethane (DFM) with acetonitirile (ACN), benzonitrile (BCN) or propionitrile (PCN) have been measured over the entire composition range at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. Excess isentropic compressibilities (ksE), and excess ultrasonic speeds, uE, of [DFM + (ACN or BCN or PCN)] and excess molar volumes (VmE), of [DFM + (BCN or PCN)] binary systems were determined and correlated by the Redlich-Kister equation. The results have been discussed in terms of possible intermolecular interactions and structural effects.
