Abstract
Chinese palygorskite doped with zinc and iron loaded TiO2 was applied as a support for the visible-light active catalyst (ZFPT). The catalyst was prepared by the method of liquid ion exchange and simultaneous precipitation. This new material extends the spectral response from UV to the visible region and exhibit improved photocatalytic activities for methylene blue reduction in aqueous suspension under visible and UV light over the pure palygorskite, P-25 and palygorskite loaded TiO2.
