Abstract
A new series of 5-(isomeric pyridyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole 3(a-c)/oxadiazole 6(a-c) and 4-(4-fluoro phenyl)-5-(isomeric pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole- 3-thiol 4(a-c)/3-methyl thiol 5(a-c) derivatives were synthesized in excellent yield and under different conditions in order to obtain new compounds with potential significant biological activity. The starting compounds, thiosemicarbazides 2(a-c), were used as the key intermediates for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. The structures of the target compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR and MS spectroscopy.
