Abstract
An efficient synthesis of asymmetrical branched dihydropyrimidinone derivatives using oxalic acid as a catalyst for the first time from multicomponent reaction of aromatic dialdehydes, b-diketones, urea and thiourea in refluxing acetonitrile is described.
