Abstract
Novel planar chiral ferrocenylimine N-(2-hydroxy-3,5-ditertbutyl)benzylidene-1-(2-diphenyl hydroxy methyl)ferrocenylethylamine was obtained by the reaction between 1-(2-diphenyl hydroxy methyl)ferrocenylethylamine and 2-hydroxy-3,5-ditertbutylbenzaldehyde in anhydrous ethanol. Its structure was characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, MS and X-ray single-crystal diffraction techniques. The title compound comprises an ‘U’ shape of the molecule with the 2-hydroxy-3,5-ditertbutylphenyl group and the 2-diphenylhydroxy methyl group.
