Abstract
An alternative approach to the synthesis of 2,2-dimethyl-3-(3-methylphenyl)propanal and its derivatives was described. 2,2-Dimethyl-3-(3-methylphenyl) propanal and its derivatives were obtained in middle yields from various substituted alkylaromtics, via bromination and alkylation. Its feature of fragrance was green, reminiscent of leaves, with flowery-aldehydic aspects.
