A New Dibenzocyclooctadiene Lignan from the Fruits of Schisandra lancifolia and Its Cytotoxicity

Abstract
A new dibenzocyclooctadiene lignan, lanciphenol B (1) was isolated from the fruits of Schisandra lancifolia. The structure of 1 was elucidated by spectroscopic methods including extensive 1 D- and 2 D-NMR techniques. Compound 1 was evaluated for its cytotoxicity, and showed cytotoxicity against NB4 and MCF7 cell with IC50 values of 7.8 and 8.9 μM, respectively.
