Complexation Equilibria of Vitamin B9, Glycine Oligopeptides with Di- and Trivalent Metal Ions

Abstract
UV-visible spectrophotometric technique was used to study the complexation equilibria involved during the formation of binary and ternary biocomplexes of some divalent metal ions [Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II)] and trivalent [Fe(III), Al(III) and Cr(III)], with folic acid and biologically relevant glycine oligopeptides [glycine (G), glycylglycine (GG), glycyl-L-phenylalanine (GP) and glyclglycylglycine (GGG)], to investigate the complexation behavior of these systems as these systems could mimic many biological interactions of the vitamins.
