Abstract
A simple hydrothermal route has been proposed to synthesize the short length ZnO hexagonal nanorods from ZnS precursor. In this method, ZnS nanoparticles, have been synthesized from zinc acetate and thiourea. The ZnS material has been annealed at 60 ºC to convert them ZnO nanoparticles. The ZnS to ZnO has been confirmed using XRD analysis. The structural and optical properties of the as prepared ZnO nanoparticles have been investigated by using X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope and photoluminescence.
