Synthesis, Characterization and Antitumor Activity of Novel Cadmium Complex with Laminine Ligand

Abstract
A novel cadmium(Cd) complex [Cd(C9H20N2O2)2·(CH3COO)2·2H2O] (C9H20N2O2: laminine) was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, 1H NMR and thermogravimetric analysis. The anticancer activity of the laminine-Cd complex on MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells was also investigated. The results showed that the laminine-Cd complex could inhibit the chymotrypsin-like activity of cell-free proteasome in vitro and induce apoptosis in cultured breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells.
