New Constituent from Argemone mexicana Linn.

Abstract
The present paper reports the isolation and structure elucidation of a new compound A identified as 5,7,4'-trihydroxy-8-methoxy flavanone-4'-a-L-rhamno-pyranosyl-7-O-b-D-xylopyranosyl-(1®3)-O-b-D-galactopyranoside along with two known compounds B and C identified as chrysoeriol and tricin, respectively from the methanolic extract of the defatted seeds of the plant by various colour reactions, chemical degradation and spectral analysis.
