New Compound from the Heat Processed Roots of Panax ginseng

Abstract
One new compound dammar-9(11),24-dien-3b-ol-3a-L-arabinosyl-7a-octanoate along with the known compound b-sitosterol-b-D-glucoside were isolated and identified from the heat processed roots of Panax ginseng. The chemical structure of new compound was elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques (COSY, HSQC, HMBC) aided by FAB-MS and IR spectra.
