Abstract
The results of the rate of cementation of Cu2+ in CuSO4 solution and in presence of different concentration of amino acids at different ppm of Cu2+, different temperatures and different rpm are given. The energy of activation as well as thermodynamic parameters DH*, DG* and DS* are discussed. It is found that the cementation reaction is first orders and rate controlling step is found to be diffusion of copper ions to zinc cylinder. It is found that the rate of cementation increases in presence of amino acids.
