Abstract
In the present work the preparation and characterization of coordination
complexes of iridium(III) and palladium(II) with some polymeric
sulfoxides have been described. The experimental data shows that
polymeric sulfoxide is capable of coordinating hard metal ions through
O-bonding of macromolecular sulfoxide groups. The complex of iridium
(III) system has utility in hydrogen transfer catalysis but palladium(lI)
system does not effectively catalyze acetylene cyclotrimerization, apparently
because of steric inhibition.
