Abstract
The Kinetics of oxidation of triphenylarsine by Cr (VI) in 60% acetonitrile-
40% water (v/v) mixture to give triphenylarsine oxide follows the
rate law,
The active species involved in the oxidation is HCrO3+. A mechanism
involving a one-electron-transfer process has been proposed.
