Abstract
The stability constants of chelates of Cr(II), Mn(II) Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with o-(N-thiopheae-2-chloroimino) benzoic acid (HTB), o-(N-thiophene-2-chloroimino) propanoic acid (HTP) and o-(N-furane-2-acetylimino) benzoic acid (HFB) have been determined potentiometrically using Calvin extension of Bjerrum method in 30% (v/v) aqueousethanol (μ═ 0.1,0.05 and 0.01N NaClO4) at 25º, 35º and 45ºC respectively. Thethermodynamic parameters have been evaluated. Magnetic, conductanceand spectral data of the solid chelates have been employed to characterise them.
