Abstract
Amines like benzylamine, piperidine and morpholine reacted with π-cyclopentadienyltungsten tricarbonyl dimer, [π-C5H5W(CO)3]2, and yielded amine derivatives, [(π-C5H5)2W2(CO)5Am](Am═C6H5CH2NH2, C5H11N, C4H9NO). These amine derivatives were reduced with sodium amalgum (Na/Hg) and further reacted with [Mn(CO)5Br] thus producing Mn-W (manganese-tungsten) bonded carbonyls, [(π-C5H5)W(CO)2Am]–-[Mn(CO)5]+. All the six compounds are characterised by elemental analysis and IR spectra.
