Abstract
Attempts have been made to prepare cephalosporin derivatives of type 1 and of type 2 by substitution at 7-amino group of 7-amino-3´-deacetoxycephalosporanic acid (7-ADCA) and at 7-(2-amino-2-phenylacetamido) side chain of cephalexin by substituted heterocyclic nucleus-s-triazine. These compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against S.aureus, S. pyogenes (gram positive bacteria) and E. coli and K. pneumoniae (gram negative bacteria). The structures of these compounds have been confirmed by elemental analysis and IR, NMR spectral studies.
