Abstract
The surface of the Pt/TiO2 semiconductor was modified by adsorption of photoactive imines derived from 2-amino-6-ethoxybenzothiazole with 2-furancarboxaldehyde (SB1), and 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde (SB2) and their Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes. Illumination of the system, containing CO2, surface modified semiconductor and L-ascorbic acid as a supersensitizer. produces appreciable amounts of HCHO and HCOOH.
