Abstract

Hydrazides of substituted 1,4-dihydropyridines have been synthesised
by condensing substituted dihydropyridine dicarboxylic
acid ester with hydrazine hydrate. The hydrazides on condensing
with β-diketones and CS₂/KOH give pyrazoles and oxadiazole 5-
thiones respectively. The synthesised compounds were screened for
antimicobial activity.
