Abstract
131I radioactive tracer is used as a tool to study the intrinsic rateof ion exchange reaction. Effect on concentration of ion exchangeresin has been investigated. It is observed that the rate of ionexchange decreases as concentration of iodide solution increasesand specific reaction rate is observed to be almost constant. Effectof temperature on ion exchange resin is also studied. Specific reactionrate is dependent on temperature. Amount of resin plays animportant role in the reaction. It is observed that specific reactionrate increases as amount of resin increases. From the determinedspecific reaction rate the energy of acti vation has been calculatedand observed to be 5.22 kJ/mole.
