Abstract
Co(Il), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of 1,10-phenanthroline with newanion tellurite (TeO32-) have been synthesised and characterised on thebasis of elemental analysis, infrared, electronic spectra, TGA and X-raydiffraction studies. Powder X -ray diffraction studies have been undertakento determine lattice parameters, viz., crystal system, crystal lattice edgeand volume. Octahderal structure for the Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes anda square-plan structures for the Cu(II) complexes have been suggested. The complexes of the series exhibit promising antibacterial and antifungalactivity.
