Abstract
Pyrazolines are synthesised from reaction of hydrazines with unsaturated
aldehydes or ketones. The intermediate hydrazones generally
rearrange to pyrazolines on refluxing with acetic acid. Acrolein gives both,
a phenylhydrazone and 1-phenyl pyrazoline Benzal acetone, phenyl
propenyl ketone, cinnamaldehyde, etc. give corresponding pyrazolines.
