Abstract
Diffusion controlled ionic migration, in a suitably optimized
W -cell geometry, has given rise to formation of acidic and alkaline
zones, separated by a neutral zone. Using this optimized W-cell,
having internal diameter 15 mm and central height 20 cm, desalination
of Lonar lake water samples at 400 V has been carried out
This method gives optimum yield of potable water with minimum
consumption of electrical energy.
