Syntheses and Characterization of the Structure for an N2O2-Donor Atom Set in a Symmetrical Tetradentate Schiff-Base Ligand Derived from Salicylaldehyde

Abstract

Tetradentate bis-(3-methoxy salicylaldimine)-1,6-diamino hexane Schiff base with (N₂O₂) donor sets, prepared by condensation of 1,6-diaminohexane and 3-methoxy salicylaldehyde and characterized by various spectroscopic method. Semi-empirical calculations have been used for investigation of the electronic properties of this tetradentate Schiff base compound.
