Abstract
The mixed ligand complexes of b-picoline (b-pico), glycine (gly–) and alanine (ala–) with Pb(II) have been studied polarographically at constant ionic strength , μ = 1.5 M (NaNO3) and pH 6.0 at 25.4 ± 0.1ºC. The reduction of the complexes at d.m.e. is reversible and diffusion–controlled. Two mixed complexes, [Pb(gly)(b–pico)]+ and [Pb(ala)b-pico)]+ are formed and their stability constants at 25.4ºC are : log b11 = 5.9515 and log b11 = 6.0640 respectively.
