Abstract
Substituted 3-formyl chromones (2) have been synthesized through the cyclization of substituted 2-hydroxyactophenones with dimethylformamide in the presence of POCl3. Their structures have been characterized by elemental analysis and spectral data. These compounds were screened for antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli.
