Abstract
The chemical composition of the essential oil of Artemisia absinthium L., grown under in vitro, greenhouse and field conditions was examined by GC and GC-MS. Significant quantitative and qualitative differences in the composition of the oils were observed. a-Thujone was the main constituent of the greenhouse and field grown samples while it was absent in the oil of the regenerated plantlets.
