Abstract
Some new 2-substituted benzimidazoles were synthesizsed by the condensation of various clinically used NSAID’s and antibacterial agents with different substituted o-phenylenediamine dihydrochlorides in presence of ethylene glycol. The structures of the title compounds were derived from elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral data. The antiinflammatory, analgesic, anticonvulsant and antimicrobial activity of these compounds are also reported.
