Abstract
Photocatalytic degradation of orange II has been studied using H2O2 sensitized Cu2O and visible light. Complete degradation of orange II is achieved for 90 min of irradiation. Addition of external oxidant H2O2 is found to be enhancing the rate of degradation. Formation of •OH free radicals during irradiation is ascertained with photoluminescence studies using terephthalic acid as probe molecule.
