Synthesis and Characterization of Some Imidazolinones and Their Schiff Bases

Abstract
Some amino substituted imidazolinones were synthesized from respective oxazolinones and their schiff bases were also synthesized by the treatment with the benzaldehydes. The structures and substitution of different groups were characterized by their UV data and pKa values, which were observed in methanol: water = 1:1 system and determined by potentiometric method at 20ºC in acetone +10 % water solvent system, respectively. The electronic transitions and inductive effects of different groups were prominently established.
