Abstract
A new series of heterocyclic compounds were achieved by the synthesis of 3-(4-substituted phenyl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole- 4-carboxaldehyde (IIi-iv) was synthesized from 4- substituted acetophenone phenylhydrazone (Ii-iv) by Vilsmeier- Haack reaction compound (IIi-iv), which was further functionalized by condensation. The reaction with various substituted anilines in refluxed ethanol with trace of conc. acetic acid to give corresponding aldimines derivatives (IIIi-xii). The synthesized compounds were screened of their in vivo analgesic and anxiolytic activities in mice by acetic acid induced writhing test, elevated plus maze and light & dark exploration test in mice. The compound IIIvii, IIIix and IIIxii showed very good anxiolytic activity, while compound no. IIIvi, IIIvii and IIIx showed very good analgesic activity.
