Abstract
An efficient and convenient approach to the synthesis of the two different products from aldehydes and 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexane-dione using two kinds of surfactant catalysts sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and dodecanesulfonic acid (DSA) (10 mol %) is described. This method provides several advantages such as environment friendliness, high yields and simple work-up procedure. In addition, water was chosen as a green solvent.
