Abstract
In this research, the synthesis and characterization of 5,11,17,23- tetra-tert-butyl-25-hydroxy-26,27,28-tris(3-N,N-diethyl dithio carbamoyle propoxy) Calix[4]arene are described. The compound was synthesized by the coupling of 25-hydroxy-26,27,28-tris-(3-bromo propoxy) calix[4]arene and N,N-diethyldithio carbamate sodium salt. This compound can be an effective extractant for transferring some divalent ions from aqueous to an organic phase. Diethyl dithio carbamates are good ligands for making complexes with Ni, Pd and Pt and also the prepared ligand can be used for preparation of ion selective electrode based on capable macrocycle.
